When I tell people I'm flirting with 30, they tell me I look like I'm in college and I have the energy of a pre-adolescent. Well, that's good because did you know there are 195 countries in this world? My goal is to travel to as many countries as my age. My current count? 14. Yikes. Better get jetsettin'! Read More

About Happynfull

The story behind Happynfull

In January 2015, @limpers (Chris) and I made a conscious decision to save up enough money to travel the world for a year. It took us 18 months, but we finally did it. Along the way, Chris sold his Fullerton condo, I sold my Acura, we collectively donated or threw away over 20 large garbage bags full of miscellaneous items that didn’t spark ‘joy’ (thanks, KonMari!).  To top that, we made a couple of new friends who bought our electronics and furniture via Craigslist!

Don’t get me wrong; it wasn’t that California living with a stable, cushion, six-figure income job was horrible by any means. We enjoyed our routine, our human friends and furry friend, and the amazing food and weather. Simply put, we were comfortable.

… and that was the problem

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”Mark Twain
Why are you traveling so long?

Life became too predictable. If we didn’t quit our jobs, I could tell you exactly what Friday, July 29, 2017 (a year from writing this) would look like:

600am: hit snooze
615am: wake up & get ready for work
700am: walk my cute furball @oclhasa
715am: sit in a car
800am: arrive at work, sit at a desk
1200pm: lunch with coworkers
100pm: sit at a desk
600pm: sit in a car
700pm: eat dinner
730pm: introverted activities (i.e. – netflix, read, write)
1000pm: sleep & repeat

Tantalizing, huh?

Where are you going?

We’ve decided that while we are baby-free, debt-free, and ailment-free, we would take advantage of this  opportunity and trade the cube life for the #digitalnomad life.

Where are we headed? Well, that my friend, you will have to find out by checking up on this blog (because even we don’t know yet!). 🙂 Our pages are blank as we experience true carpe diem.

/kärpā ˈdēˌem/ exclamation: used to urge someone to make the most of the present time and give little thought to the future.

Follow us on our journey as we share travel tips, advice, photos, and stories in what we call our adventure year.

Cheers to a colorful life,

Emily
